• September, 2007 - National Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month.

• September 22nd, 8am-12pm - The North Shore Links host Chicago Areas Cluster 5K Walk to Benefit UIC Medical Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center.
  Location:  Skokie North Shore Sculpture Park McCormick Blvd/ between Dempster and Main, Skokie, IL. 60076.


• Blood & Marrow/Marrow Registry Only Drives
• September 16th, 8pm-2pm - Holy Angels Catholic Church.
  Free screening for Sickle Cell Trait provided to those who donate.  Registration for the National Marrow Registry will be available.  Location:  607E Oakwood Blvd, Chicago, IL.  For more information call 847.803.7943.
• September 29th - University of Illinois at Chicago Blood Bank.
  Free screening for Sickle Cell Trait will be provided.  Location:  1740 West Taylor, Chicago, IL.  For more information call 312.996.6970.

• September 28th, 12pm-1pm - "Sickle Cell Disease: Lecture An Update for Healthcare Professionals".  Presenter- Dr. Mabel Koshy, M.D.
